Biz Markie whoops it up for Cheerleaders' birthday
Also, Harry Connick Jr., Wynonna, NeNe and more

Rapper Ed Lover opened up for the great Biz Markie on the decks at Cheerleaders (2740 S. Front St.) on Thursday night.
Hip-hop heavyweight Markie was in town celebrating the gentlemen's club's 19th anniversary, and was among friends.
He shared the mic with Uncle Luke from 2 Live Crew.
The famous smash-hit sampler sat down with me for a few minutes to talk.
"It's a very special event 'cause it's the 19th anniversary," he said, "and plus I'm around friends, and you know, friends do friends - it's a barter system.
"All my stuff is in motion," Markie told me, citing his work with the crew from the "Yo Gabba Gabba" live show and a guest appearance on "SpongeBob SquarePants."
A self-proclaimed "friend" of Cheerleaders, Markie also expressed love for "my man Jazzy Jeff - and Cash Money. I just love the people in Philly. And cheesesteaks."
Markie played probably his best-known hit, "Just a Friend," on Thursday night, with everybody in the wall-to-wall-packed club swaying and singing along.
While we're on strip clubs and rap, I heard that MMG head Rick Ross crushed it at Vanity Grand (6130 Passyunk Ave.) for Power 99's "White Party" on Saturday night.
The Bawse is being sued by a photographer who claims that Ross used a photo of Jay Z in his recent music video, "Movin Bass," without permission.
OUT AND ABOUT
Harry Connick Jr. hearkened back to the days of "When Harry Met Sally" by singing "It Had to Be You" at the Perelman School of Medicine's 250th birthday party Saturday night.
He joined University of Pennsylvania alums Mayor Nutter and NBC News' Andrea Mitchell; local dignitaries, including honorary chairman Ray Perelman; and more than 1,200 others at the black-tie gala at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The event brought together donors, faculty, staff and alumni to look back at the school's humble beginnings and talk about its future.
* Country-music queen Wynonna Judd was spotted at the Hotel Palomar's Square 1682 (121 S. 17th St.) over the weekend.
* NeNe Leakes, of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta," was touring some property in Atlantic City over the weekend.
Philly real-estate mogul Bart Blatstein showed her around the Playground at the Pier Shops at Caesars.
Wedding bells
Comcast SportsNet's Sixers sideline reporter Molly Sullivan is officially off the market.
She got married last week in Hawaii to Tommy French.
Birthday wishes
Fox 29 celebrated half a century on TV over the weekend.
On Friday, the folks from MyFoxPhilly took a trip back in time by pretending to report the news from 1965.
Jerry Blavat helped the show by selecting background music from the '60s. Sue Serio quipped about being a woman in the workplace doing the weather.
And Mike Jerrick and Alex Holley tried SpaghettiOs, seemingly for the first time.
Happy birthday to our friends at Fox.
And on the stage . . .
