Coaching basketball isn't the only talent in the Fran Dunphy household. JP Dunphy, son of the Temple University men's basketball coach, is a Broadway World award nominee, and Ree Dunphy, Fran's wife, recently showed her producing talent in A Musical Celebration of Philly Favorites at the Haverford School to raise money for the St. Ignatius Nursing & Rehab Center. The fund-raiser and 14th annual gala for the center was a magical evening. Four actors who perform at the Walnut Street Theatre - JP Dunphy, Tony Braithwaite, Ben Dibble, and Michael Philip O'Brien - along with a 17-piece orchestra put on a show to remember. The preshow event production, under the guidance of Karin Purcell, featured a Philly Favorites menu and decorations, along with the Mummers and famous Philadelphians impersonators Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross, and Rocky. More than 400 were in attendance, raising $190,000 for the St. Ignatius Nursing & Rehab Center.
