Harlem Globetrotters hit the Jersey Shore
Everybody appreciates a few days at the Jersey Shore. Especially the Clown Princes of Basketball. The Harlem Globetrotters finish up their annual four-day visit to Wildwood, N.J., this weekend, and star Big Easy Lofton says it's a treat for the team. "Wildwood has become a must-play tradition for us every summer," he says. "From riding the tram car when we arrive to tossing out Frisbees on the beach, our annual trip to Wildwood is much more than four games."

The Trotters, also featuring dribbling wizard Handles Franklin and former Temple standout TNT Maddox, even brought along their perennial foes, the Washington Generals. The beloved losers will be baffled by trick shots and endure being the butt of the jokes as they try to eke out a rare win. Something tells us they won't. The Globetrotters never forget to pack that bucket of confetti.
Hairy adventure
Not too many writers can stand with the Bard, but by any measure the Brothers Grimm are in the vicinity. The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival's adaptation of the brothers' classic tale, Rapunzel, about a shoemaker trying to rescue a long-haired damsel in distress, finishes its run this weekend. The play, with some added characters including an "effervescent bunny" and a quartet of colorful, friendly spiders, is geared for ages 3 to 12.
