On Nov. 4, Caron, the comprehensive addiction treatment for life organization, hosted the Richard J. Caron Award of Excellence gala. At the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, 485 people celebrated Caron's work. Daniel J. Hilferty, president/CEO of Independence Blue Cross, was this year's honoree. The 2015 Legacy of Hope sponsors included the Christopher and Ellen Maguire Foundation and the Maguire Foundation, the Patrick E. Rogers Endowment, the Ed Satell Family and the Wall/Uebler Family. Duane Morris LLP received the Partner in Recovery Award for providing pro bono legal work and exemplifying commitment to the community. The event raised $500,000 for the Caron Treatment Scholarship fund to be used in the battle against alcohol and drug addiction in the community.
