Ellen Gray's TV picks: 'Born This Way,' a 'Taraji and Terrence' holiday special and more

Eva Longoria ("Desperate Housewives") returns to television as a Spanish soap opera star who struggles with Spanish - and her ex-husband/co-star (Jencarlos Canela) - in a frothy new comedy that's getting a preview after "The Voice" before its official Jan. 4 premiere.

Originally postponed because of the Paris terror attacks, this concert's now scheduled to air only hours after being recorded at the city's Accorhotels Arena.

* BORN THIS WAY. 10 p.m. Tuesday, A&E.

From the producers of "The Real World," a show about seven young adults with Down syndrome (pictured) who were born to be "reality" stars.

* TARAJI and TERRENCE'S WHITE HOT HOLIDAYS. 9 p.m. Wednesday, Fox29.

With "Empire" gone until March 30, Fox enlists stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard to heat up the ratings for one more week with a holiday variety special.

* YOU'RE THE WORST. 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, FXX.

The twisted rom-com wraps up its second season with the funny, wrenching "The Heart Is a Dumb Dumb," which, like this show, isn't dumb at all.

* DOLLY PARTON'S COAT OF MANY COLORS. 9 p.m. Thursday, NBC10.

Alyvia Alyn Lind stars as 9-year-old Dolly Parton in a movie focusing on incidents from the singer's Tennessee childhood.

* TRANSPARENT. Friday, Amazon.

The critically acclaimed dramedy about a 70-year-old (Jeffrey Tambor) who's transitioned from Mort to Maura returns with 10 new episodes.
