For your own one-of-a-kind

Craft fairs and guild shows are some of the best places to find those unique holiday gifts. The Haverford Guild's Holiday Fine Craft Show offers more than 40 artists - jewelers, ceramists, photographers, metalsmithers, and woodworkers - selling one-of-a-kind pieces. The Holiday Fine Craft Show is one of the guild's major events. A chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, the Haverford Guild of Craftsmen started in 2009 with 12 members in its initial charter and now counts more than 100.

While there will be a whole host of excellent booths to check out - Douglas Starry's wooden chairs and Leslie Rogalski's beaded jewelry are just a couple of artists to be on the lookout for - it's Helge Speth's mixed-media ceramics that caught our eye. These colorful pieces by the South Jersey artist have a fluid look and are inspired by nature and organic shapes, reminiscent of art nouveau.
