Audition to be Pennsylvania's 'State Senior Idol'

Are you a Pennsylvanian older than age 50? Are you a talented singer, dancer or musician?

You could be Pennsylvania's next elder idol.

Auditions have been scheduled for the eighth Pennsylvania State Senior Idol competition.

State residents age 50 and older can show off their vocal, instrumental, dance, comedy or magic skills at one of two audition sites for a chance to compete at the October finals.

Auditions will be held on Aug. 27 at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East, 4751 Lindle Road in Harrisburg, and on Sept. 5 at the Heritage Hotel, 500 Centerville Road in Lancaster. Participants can download a registration form from the contest's website.

Fifteen semifinalists will be selected. The winner of the competion will receive a limousine trip to New York City, dinner and Broadway tickets.
