Rapper

DMX

(

Earl Simmons

) was arrested yesterday at his Phoenix home after a 3 a.m. raid by a SWAT team that sought to serve the rapper with an arrest warrant.

The warrant stems from an August search of DMX's house prompted by reports that he was abusing dogs. Cops seized 12 pit bulls, dug up remains of three others, and found marijuana. The rapper was not at home.

Yesterday's raid yielded more drugs and weapons. Authorities decided to raid the house because DMX has consistently refused to make himself available to answer to charges of animal cruelty.
