A celebration of the life and music of composer Robert Capanna has been set for March 4 at the Kimmel Center. Capanna, the longtime head of the Settlement Music School and Presser Foundation who died in January, will be remembered in remarks by friends, colleagues, and family, as well as with music.

Network for New Music will play his String Trio. Reginald Pindell will sing two spirituals with pianist Jeffrey Uhlig. Violinist Diane Monroe will perform one movement of Capanna's Sonata for Violin and Piano with pianist Michal Schmidt, plus Monroe's own arrangement of "Amazing Grace."

The event starts at noon at the Kimmel's Perelman Theater, Broad and Spruce Streets.
