EAGLES RECEIVER Hank Baskett seems to be quite chummy with Kendra Wilkinson, a Playboy model and one of the co-stars on E!'s "The Girls Next Door."
EAGLES RECEIVER
Hank Baskett
seems to be quite chummy with
Kendra Wilkinson
, a
Playboy
model and one of the co-stars on E!'s "The Girls Next Door."
Wilkinson is, on the show at least, one of Hugh Hefner's live-in girlfriends. We're told that Wilkinson, 23, and Baskett, 26, recently dined together at Redstone (500 Rt. 73 S.) in Marlton.
She lists "HB3" as one of her heroes on her MySpace page, and Baskett's page, which is private, says "HB3 in LOOOOOVVVVEEEE!!!!" An Eagles spokesman contacted Baskett for comment and got back to us saying he had not heard from the receiver.
E-mails to Playboy publicists were not returned by deadline.
Injured DJ was to visit this week
Philadelphia-raised DJ AM, who is currently recovering from serious facial burns suffered in a Friday night plane crash in South Carolina that killed four people, was scheduled to appear Wednesday morning at Forrest Hill in a group photo of more than 100 Philly DJ's including Schoolly D, Code Money, Jazzy Jeff, Josh Wink, Too Tuff, ?uestlove and possibly Mixmaster Mike Nutter as part of the first annual Philadelphia DJ Day, organized by Jonene Taddei and Kamau Stanford. AM, born Adam Goldstein, was also booked to spin at Pearl (1904 Chestnut) Thursday night with DJ Excel warming up. He and former blink 182 drummer Travis Barker were the only two passengers to survive the plane crash. Barker, who had performed that night with AM as TRVSDJ-AM, suffered burns to his torso and lower body.
Gorby sings for his supper
Mikhail Gorbachev sang "Moscow Nights," accompanied on piano by Van Cliburn, sitting side-by-side on a piano bench during the Thursday night gala following the former Soviet leader receiving the Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center.
President George H.W. Bush gave Gorbachev the award and also lunched with him that afternoon at the Presidential Suite of the Rittenouse Hotel, where both men stayed. Gorbachev also tried the hotel's restaurant Lacroix Friday before leaving for London.
'Pull my hair' offers DiCicco
On Thursday, when political operative Ed Kirlin, who videotapes City Council sessions, approached Councilman Frank DiCicco talking to Committee of Seventy head Zack Stalberg and education advocate Dr. Marceine Mattleman, DiCicco warned "Watch out, he's a Local 98 operative." As DiCicco headed into session, Kirlin responded, "Actually I'm a private citizen who's doing a documentary on crooked politicians with bad toupees."
We never noticed DiCicco wore a toupee. And for good reason. He doesn't. We reached DiCicco Friday afternoon who said he's long been asked if he wore a piece "because I have very fine hair and when it gets long it looks like a rug to some people." Friday morning the Councilman had gotten a haircut at Laurentius Salon (815 Christian). If anyone wants to tug on DiCicco's hair to prove it's real, they can do so by donating $500 to a charity of his choice. Any takers can call DiCicco's council office at 215-686-3458.
Kirlin, who works for the electricians union, run by DiCicco foe John Dougherty, has taken pictures of or filmed DiCicco "for the better part of eight years," says the councilman. "He's Local 98's arts-and-crafts director," he jokes.
Geator promotes hand-washing
Jerry Blavat will be the poster-boy, literally, of the Word-OUT! Awareness Foundation's You Gotta Wash Your Hands! campaign.
The Geator will be featured on 35 billboards that Clear Channel is sponsoring. Jefferson University Hospital is also involved in the campaign to curb the spread of germs. There is also a large helium balloon with that message that will be moored at the High School for Creative and Performing Arts (Broad & Christian) at 1:30 this afternoon. *
