* In less-happy marriage news, although it's likely for the best, R. Kelly has finally finalized his divorce from his wife, Andrea. They've been officially divorced after 11 years of marriage.

Tattle explanation

Although it may be an honor to be called tasteless by a radio station famous for getting people of all shapes and sizes to eat chicken wings until they puke, there really was no bad taste intended by Friday's Tattle column, which got Tattle hailed as a "Weasel of the Week" on WIP. It seems as if our comments about stopping by an Ocala, Fla., eatery for some friendly barbecue after Jett Travolta's memorial service rubbed morning co-host Rhea Hughes the wrong way.

Really wrong. "Weasel of the Week" wrong. Tattle has written some admittedly tasteless things over the years, but we did not see this as one of them, nor did any of our editors, so we were stunned when WIP made an issue out of it Friday morning.

Many members of Tattle's family are buried in a cemetery in North Jersey. After we attend a funeral or unveiling there we're admittedly sad. It's therefore a longtime custom to bring the whole family out to eat after the service. Because it's New Jersey and there are 10 diners within 5 miles of the cemetery, we often go to one of them. Since we've been to most of them over the years, we now try to go to the one that has the best food and the friendliest service as we're all bummed out anyway.

That's ALL the comment meant. Tattle has really been to Tommy's in Ocala and it's the kind of warm, friendly, family place that would be uplifting after a sad day. But sorry if any of you were offended. We'd prefer if you were offended when we intend it. *
