Tattle: What say we vote 'delusional' Richard Hatch off the chutzpah island

"SURVIVOR" winner Richard Hatch said in an interview on the "Today" show yesterday that he believes that he was sent to prison because he's gay.

"SURVIVOR" winner

Richard Hatch

said in an interview on the "Today" show yesterday that he believes that he was sent to prison because he's gay.

Gee, Tattle thought it was because he didn't pay taxes on his $1 million "Survivor" prize and then lied on the stand.

Not according to Hatch, who, speaking publicly for the first time since being released from prison to home confinement, told "Today" that he believes that the judge discriminated against him - him being gay and all - and a prosecutor was guilty of misconduct - again, because he was gay.

"I know without question that there are personal issues involved for the prosecutor," he said. "I don't know why. The prosecutorial misconduct has been egregious."

When asked if he believes that if he was heterosexual he would not have gone to prison, Hatch replied, "I do believe that."

In court papers filed earlier this year, Hatch complained of widespread prejudice in the justice system against gay people.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office said that Hatch's claims are baseless. Former U.S. Attorney Robert Clark Corrente - whose office oversaw the case - told WPRO-AM that Hatch is "delusional."

Flop not all

Paris' fault

Paris Hilton's movie "Pledge This!" may have been a bomb at the box office, but Miami District Judge Federico Moreno says that Paris won't have to pay more than $8 million because of it.

A lawsuit by investors in the film sought that amount, blaming the 2006 movie's poor showing on Hilton's failure to promote it, sort of forgetting that the poor showing was actually because Paris was in it.

Moreno said that Hilton could still have to repay some of the $1 million she was paid to make the film.

* Something besides Celine Dion's voice is going to be big.

She's pregnant.

Murielle Blondeau, a spokeswoman with the Bureau de Francine Chaloult, said yesterday that Dion and her husband, Rene Angelil, found out about the pregnancy Monday after she underwent fertility treatments in New York. Blondeau says that the baby, the couple's second, is due in May.

She says that Celine and Rene are full of joy and that it's been a dream for Celine to have a second child. Dion's first child, Rene-Charles, started private school this week in Florida.

Rene-Charles was also conceived by in vitro fertilization at the same New York clinic eight years ago.

Celine, 41, is the youngest and loudest of 14 children.

* "Scrubs" star Sarah Chalke is expecting her first baby, according to Life & Style. Her rep (aka a Chalke talker) confirmed to the mag that the 32-year-old actress is due to give birth this winter.

The father is her fiancé, entertainment lawyer Jamie Afifi.

Michael Jackson update

* On Aug. 29, Spike Lee is marking what would have been Michael Jackson's 51st birthday with a block party-style celebration in Brooklyn.

DJ Spinna will be spinning all things MJ.

Spike, a Brooklyn native, and Michael collaborated on the music video for "They Don't Care About Us."

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will proclaim Aug. 29 "Michael Jackson Day" at the celebration.

* Michael Jackson's concierge doctor has posted a short video thanking his supporters.

When you read stuff like that do you really need Nostradamus to tell you the end is near?

A video?

His supporters?

The one-minute vid posted yesterday on YouTube is the first time Dr. Conrad Murray has spoken publicly since Michael died on June 25. Doc is being investigated on manslaughter charges.

* Forget, "You're fired!"

Remember, "You're Inspired!"

On Monday, "Apprentice" meanie Omarosa had her first day of class at the United Theological Seminary, in Dayton.

She's studying to become a minister, taking classes in the Old and New Testaments and the history of Christianity. She's also required to minister to the sick and dying at hospitals.

Omarosa says that few people have faith in her transformation.

Imagine that.
