Dan Gross: WIP chief irate over mag bit

610 WIP BOSS Marc Rayfield says that he was "misquoted throughout" the April Philly Sport magazine article in which he dissed 97.5 The Fanatic, which we reported on in yesterday's column.
"Some of the quotes are way off and don't even resemble what I said, and some were simply taken out of context . . . I do, however, enjoy reading fiction as well as op-ed, and that's largely what Ted's article was," Rayfield said of the article written by the mag's publisher, Ted Beitchman.
Beitchman was incredulous yesterday afternoon when told of Rayfield's remarks. "He's sore because he looks bad and the station looks bad, and they're losing their franchise," Beitchman said.
"He got the magazine a week ago. If he had a problem with something I wrote why the f--- didn't he tell me? He's a weasel," shot Beitchman, who said he "absolutely" stands by his reporting. He said he would be happy to share his notes with Rayfield.
Rayfield, who called Beitchman's piece a "hatchet job," about which he should "be embarrassed," would not dignify the weasel remark with a response.
Your Humble Narrator would like to clarify something from yesterday's column. While WIP's Howard Eskin has lost a lot of listeners to The Fanatic's Mike Missanelli, the same is not true for most WIP hosts, as we stated. In fact, WIP's midday team of Glen Macnow and Anthony Gargano was No. 1 with men 25-54, and with men 18-59 for the two previous ratings periods.
A ring for Tiger's mistress
Steven Singer Jewelers (8th & Walnut) provided a 3.5-carat black diamond ring as a prize for yesterday's Tiger Woods' Mistress Beauty Pageant on Howard Stern's Sirius/XM radio show. Jamie Jungers took home the ring, the value of which the jeweler declined to reveal, after winning the bikini competition. Jungers also won $75,000 from AshleyMadison.com, the Web site that caters to married people who want to have discreet affairs.
Woods' mistresses Jaimee Grubbs and Loredana Jolie, who placed second and third after Jungers, also received money from the site.
For more than 20 years, Singer has provided prizes for Stern contests such as Queen of Anal and Oldest Stripper.

Sister Mary Anthony Lovezzola of Archbishop Ryan High School will shave her head at 10 a.m. Sunday at Q BBQ & Tequila (207 Chestnut) in support of 12-year-old Zachary Nolte, who's in remission from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and who was treated at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. * CBS 3 and The CW Philly's Tuesday phone
bank for the Ronald McDonald House Charities raised $346,746 in donations from viewers and corporate sponsors. Former Eagles GM Jim Murray, a founder of the Ronald McDonald Houses, appeared on air with anchors Susan Barnett and Chris May. Flyers alums Gary Dornhoefer and Bob "Hound" Kelly (not to be confused with CBS3/98.1 WOGL traffic anchor Bob Kelly, though he was on-air, too) also appeared, as did a handful of personalities from the station, and from local CBS Radio stations and the Sixers dancers.
Since January 2009, CBS 3 has raised more than $1.5 million for charities with phone banks, and nearly $1 million for Haiti.
And speaking of CBS 3 . . .
They say you can't go home again, but CBS 3 assistant news director Cesar Aldama is leaving the station to become news director at Miami's CBS4 and its sister station Channel 33.
Aldama was raised on the Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and later moved to Miami, where most of his family still lives. Aldama worked as managing editor at CBS4 before coming to Philadelphia in 2003.
