Tattle: Cheap shots at Sarah bring out the worst in Bristol
BRISTOL PALIN got into a tussle with a bar patron at the Saddle Ranch in West Hollywood while filming her reality show.

BRISTOL PALIN got into a tussle with a bar patron at the Saddle Ranch in West Hollywood while filming her reality show.
Palin had just fallen off the bar's mechanical bull when a bald man yelled, "Did you ride [baby daddy] Levi [Johnston] like that? Your mother is a whore! Your mother is a f - - - - - - devil!"
Palin then confronted the man, asking him why he hated her mother. His most cogent response was that Sarah Palin is "evil." C'mon, dude, if you're going to harass the girl in public, at least have an answer ready in case she fights back.
We were almost proud of Lil' Palin for taking the high road, but then she blew it. "Is it because you're a homosexual and that's why you hate her?" Palin asked. After more similarly high-minded back-and-forths between the two, Bristol walked away, only to come back at the Bald Man, complete with some dramatic "gay" mannerisms, saying "Let's go!" as if she's ready to take this one outside.
Oh, honey.
Bristol almost had this one, but then she went on the offensive with no evidence, other than stereotypes (and the fact that she's in a West Hollywood cowboy bar). There was no reason to attack the guy for his decidedly private sexuality.
Plus, let's be honest, being gay is a pretty good reason to not like Sarah Palin, considering she opposes same-sex marriage and extending benefits to same-sex partners and was against the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.
Let's all agree that both parties were in the wrong here. Bald Man should have kept his mouth shut and Palin should have gone with the sticks-and-stones defense.
But must we remind people that Palin is only 20. What's she doing in a bar?
Not so sunny
Ocean City residents are up in arms about Thursday's episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," in which the gang heads downashore. The episode, which portrays OC as a needle-ridden garbage dump, rather than the dry seaside town that it is, never actually mentions the town by name, but regulars would recognize Gillians Wonderland Pier's ferris wheel.
"It's classless, and I'm disappointed that we didn't look into what they were filming," Mayor Jay Gillian told Ocean City Patch. "It's definitely not what we want to do in the future." City officials said they did not see a script in advance, nor had many seen the show that includes such classic episodes as "Charlie Wants an Abortion" and "Frank Sets Sweet Dee on Fire."
Shame on you, "It's Always Sunny"! Everyone knows that Ocean City isn't a needle-ridden garbage dump. That distinction goes to Wildwood . . .
Wanda's confession
Wanda Sykes, an outta-this-world funny lady and sometimes-Delaware County resident, told Ellen DeGeneres that she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. She opted for a double mastectomy and is now feeling fine.
In February, Sykes had gone to the doctor to have a breast reduction because her girls were becoming more of a nuisance than an asset. "It wasn't until after the reduction that in the lab work, the pathology, that they found that I had DCIS [ductal carcinoma in situ] in my left breast," Sykes told DeGeneres. "I was very, very lucky because DCIS is basically stage-zero cancer."
But Sykes decided on the dramatic decision to have a double mastectomy because she has a family history of breast cancer. "I had both breasts removed . . . because now I have zero chance of having breast cancer."
Sykes also explained why she hesitated to go public with her struggles. "I was like, I don't know, should I talk about it or what? How many things could I have? I'm black, then lesbian. I can't be the poster child for everything," Sykes joked. "At least with the LGBT issues we get a parade, we get a float, it's a party. I was real hesitant about doing this, because I hate walking. I got a lot of walks coming up."
