SPORTSCASTER
Lou Tilley
introduced District Attorney
Seth Williams
to speak Friday at a Ritz-Carlton event kicking off the Philadelphia Soul/Greater Media Radio's Stand Up campaign against child sexual abuse.
As the event ended, Tilley went over to shake Williams' hand and compliment the speech, only it wasn't Williams, but a member of his security detail, whom Tilley had mistaken for the district attorney.
Tilley, who works on the "Propper Hockey" Flyers show and will broadcast Soul games on WMCN-TV, laughed when we called him about the mix-up yesterday. "I think they were wearing almost exactly the same suit, and I had never met Seth. I didn't get a chance to talk to him before the event," Tilley explained.
"I said, 'Hey, thanks for coming,' and went on and on, and he kept trying to interrupt me, and finally I let him. He told me he wasn't the district attorney and I realized I was making a fool of myself.
"I wanted to backtrack and find the real Seth and tell him the story but I got distracted," said Tilley.
D.A. spokeswoman Tasha Jamerson said yesterday of the mix-up, which the security officer made sure to convey to Williams right away, "They just thought it was funny."
Tilley handles all video production for the Soul through his company, Lou Tilley Media Enterprises. He's gearing up for the season opener in New Orleans on March 18.
