Celeb boxing promoter in scuffle with Wing Bowl eater

CELEBRITY BOXING promoter Damon Feldman reportedly got into a scuffle with Wing Bowl competitor "Gentleman" Jerry Coughlan at the Columbus Club early yesterday.

An eyewitness told me that Feldman and Coughlan started a skirmish about 3:30 a.m. that ended when Feldman was escorted out of the Clifton Heights club.

"Feldman wanted a piece of him, but there were too many people between them," the witness told me, adding that he believed Coughlan was the instigator.

Neither Coughlan nor the Columbus Club returned calls for comment.

Feldman, a former pro boxer, confirmed the details of the fight, saying Coughlan made "derogatory" comments about his career and children. He does not plan to press charges, but offered a more unconventional way to settle their differences.

"I want this guy," Feldman said. "Maybe he will fight me in the ring?"

Sportscaster Brian Startare is jumping ship from WIP to 97.5 the Fanatic. He'll start Thursday with coverage of the NBA draft from 7 to 11 p.m., Startare confirmed to me, but his regular slot will be Sundays from 4 to 8 p.m. He'll cover the Flyers and the Eagles and fill in for other anchors when needed.

"I had 8 1/2 great years at WIP," Startare told me. "I want to thank Angelo Cataldi for giving me my start, and all the great people there, like Glen Macnow, Rhea Hughes, Anthony Gargano and Big Daddy [Graham] and all the folks who have helped me over the years. I'll miss them all."

Startare isn't taking a breather between gigs. "I was going to start [yesterday], but it was my son's birthday," Startare said, referring to his now 8-year-old, "so I'm taking my first weekend off in years."

For the record, Startare's son's birthday party was superhero-themed.

Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves made names for themselves playing neo-Jeff Spicolis in "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure," and its sequel, "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey." We all know what happened to Reeves. But Winter, instead of fading into early-'90s obscurity, went behind the camera, cultivating a career as a director and producer. He's at the Trocadero tonight to screen his new documentary, "Downloaded," as part of the Awesome Fest. Winter will answer questions about "Downloaded" and stay to show "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure."

"Downloaded" looks at the rise and fall of music file-sharing site Napster, which Winter sees as the forerunner to social media like Facebook and Twitter.

"Community was how I came into Napster," Winter said. "There was nothing like that."

Winter originally pitched the movie as a narrative, a la "The Social Network," a take on the founding of Facebook. His idea was green-lighted, but nothing happened with it. "I figured I would . . . let people tell their stories," Winter said. Those stories are told via creators Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker, Beastie Boy Mike D., Oasis' Noel Gallagher and Henry Rollins.

Winter has fond memories of his earlier acting days. He is working on two TV shows and another documentary about the plight of child actors, but says he's still open to revisiting Bill S. Preston, Esq., and Ted "Theodore" Logan. "Me and Keanu and [writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon] have been kicking around an idea [for a sequel], but only if we can put that together in a way that works and it makes something that would honor the first," Winter said.
