Orlando Bloom does good

Which one of Orlando Bloom's recent accomplishments is more impressive? Last week, he visited a refugee camp near the Syrian border housing Jordanians displaced by the nation's civil war.

Bloom, 37, who is a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, met with children at Jordan's Za'atari refuge and visited classes at a UNICEF-supported school where he danced with a few tykes.

Guess that's not bad.

But on Sunday he totally blew us away, winning the award for best fight at the MTV Movie Awards for the beat-down he gave Evangeline Lilly in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Now that's something he can cherish with pride.

Pierce Brosnan is older

Bad boy Pierce Brosnan isn't.

Oh, he can be bad, all right.

It's just that he's not a boy any longer: The onetime James Bond turns 61 on May 16.

"Being 60 never came into my idea of reality when I was young. Now that I am 60, it seems like only yesterday that I was 20," Brosnan tells Cigar Aficionado. "But I revel in it - I embrace it. I celebrate it."

People seem to like Brosnan.

"The candor of his gaze is very appealing and opens one up to him," Emma Thompson tells the mag. "He really is a wonderful man."

Did you know Brosnan likes to paint - only as long as it also involves smoking?

"If I'm painting," he says, "I will have a good old stogie there sitting in the ashtray."

Even Diaz is getting older

Cameron Diaz, 41, also has been thinking about the inexorable march of time.

"That's what life is about," she tells In Style of aging. "Being honest with yourself and not being afraid. Fear and failure and all the things that come with pain are actually the best thing for you - if you go toward them with the purpose of getting stronger." Um, sure!

Even Drake is a hero

Drake traveled to Houston this weekend after hearing of 15-year-old fan Kennedy Brown, a high school freshman who has terminal brain cancer.

Drake came after being the subject of an intense hashtag campaign, #DrakeForKen, launched by Kennedy's schoolmates. The rapper poses with his arm around Kennedy in an Instagram pic.

"She asked to touch the brows," he wrote of the girl's fervent request to touch his world-famous eyebrows.

He obliged.

It's a lie! A lie! A lie!

A report went viral Monday that Patti LaBelle was arrested after getting into a fist-fight with Aretha Franklin in Atlanta. Don't fall for it: It's a spoof!
