IT'S SPRING, isn't it? Temperaturewise, it ain't, but in celebrity world there's hope all over the place with news of classic show reboots headed to Broadway and births, impending or otherwise, particularly one to a former first family.

Yesterday

Movie/TV actor Idris Elba and his girlfriend Naiyana Garth are now the proud parents of newborn son Winston, Elba announced on Twitter, Us Weekly reported. The babe was born Thursday.

"My Son Winston Elba was born yesterday..Truly Amazing," wrote Elba, 41, who will always be Stringer Bell from "The Wire" to Temporary Tattle. He shared a black and white photo showing Winston's tiny hand around Elba's index finger. Verklempt.

Thursday

* Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton told a panel audience that she's pregnant, while her mom, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was at her side. This will be her and husband Marc Mezvinsky's first child. Baby Mezvinsky will also be the first grandchild of the former first lady and former President Bill Clinton.

Clinton, who was on a panel about empowering women with her mother at a Clinton Foundation event, said, "Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year."

Miley Cyrus has been sick, sick, sick and could continue to be hospitalized for another three weeks because of an "extreme allergic reaction" to an antibiotic, her rep told CNN.

The singer has had to interrupt her "Bangerz" tour and canceled performances in Kansas City, Charlotte and St. Louis. She's due Monday in Philly.

Wednesday

* "X-Men" franchise director Bryan Singer was sued in a federal court in Hawaii by Michael Egan III, over claims that the director sexually abused Egan in the late 1990s when he was 17 years old.

* Rapper Andre Johnson, who purportedly was affiliated with Wu-Tang Clan, cut off his own penis and jumped out of an apartment building in North Hollywood during an apparent suicide attempt.

Doctors reportedly could not reattach his severed limb.

Tuesday

Out has released its annual Power 50 list, ranking the LGBT community's most influential voices and talk-show host/funny lady Ellen DeGeneres tops the list.

* Stage and film producer Matthew Weaver, who helped create "Rock of Ages," has acquired theatrical stage rights to "Soul Train" for a possible Broadway run.

Monday

A judge approved a settlement between the estranged wife of the late Mickey Rooney and the conservator of his estate, Mike Augustine, ending a legal war over where the actor-performer will be buried.

Rooney, who died April 6, will be interred in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, where silent-film stars Rudolph Valentino and Douglas Fairbanks are also laid to rest, according to the settlement approved by L.A. Superior Court Judge Lesley Green.
