OH, A GARGANTUAN media wave deluged the nation in debates over the future of the Los Angeles and its owner, as well as speculation about new owners. Thankfully, that gave way to way more important news: the original "Star Wars" actors are alive and well and will return for an upcoming sequel. They'll join new folks who were still counting their lucky stars as of late yesterday.

Yesterday

The youngest Baldwin brother, Stephen, 47, was arrested in New York City for driving with an expired license, Us Weekly reported. The actor was stopped in Harlem, reportedly carrying an expired Texas registration and expired license.

Thursday

Heroin likely had a role in the April 7 death of British TV personality Peaches Geldof, daughter of musician and political activist Bob Geldof, coroner Roger Hatch said. Her mother, Paula Yates, died of a heroin overdose in 2000. Bob Geldof also announced he will marry longtime girlfriend Jeanne Marine. And, not to be outdone, Fifi Geldof, sister of Peaches, daughter of Bob, said she will marry boyfriend Andrew Robertson, a onetime homeless magician, the Daily Mail reported.

Wednesday

Actors Daniel Craig, Benicio del Toro and Steve Carell have joined President Obama in a public service announcement aimed at men against sexual assault. The celeb men urge regular men to stand up to sexual violence and to become "part of the solution." "It's a crime. It's wrong," Carell says.

Pop singer Miley Cyrus is sick again after her symptoms from a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics have returned. Doctors have ordered her not to travel, forcing the expert twerker to cancel two more concert dates in Europe.

The Seattle Police Department released a note they found in Kurt Cobain's wallet after his 1994 suicide. It reads in part: "Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife even when shes (sic) a bitch with zits and siphoning all yr (sic) money for doping and whoring . . . " Cops didn't say whether the handwriting was Cobain's.

Director/producer/creative type J.J. Abrams unveiled the cast of his upcoming mega pic, "Star Wars: Episode VII": Oscar Issac ("Inside Llewyn Davis"), Andy Serkis ("Lord of the Rings"), legendary Swedish actor Max von Sydow, Adam Driver ("Girls"), Domhnall Gleeson ("About Time") and newcomers John Boyega and Daisy Ridley.

"Star War" vets will also return for the movie, which is set for release in December: Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2).

Monday

Legendary singer Paul Simon and wife Edie Brickell were arrested last week at their Connecticut home on disorderly conduct charges, according to a police report. There was shoving after Simon did something to "break her heart," according to police.

Couples no more

* Randy Prince Harry has split with honey, Cressida Bonas.

* "Newsroom" actress Olivia Munn and her boo, Joel Kinnaman of "The Killing," have called it quits after two years.

* "Entourage" actor Kevin Connolly and his model-socialite gal pal Lydia Hearst are dunzo after a year of dating, according to reports.
