Jenner: The wives' views
Bruce Jenner, 65, spoke up Friday night on ABC about his gender reassignment. "I was not genetically born [a woman] and as of now I have all the male parts. . . . But I still identify as female," the former Olympic gold-medal decathlete told Diane Sawyer.
Now his three ex-wives are airing their views.
The latest, Kris, put the lie to recent rumors of more strife between the couple, tweeting, "Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero."
Jenner told Sawyer that Kris was not aware of his true feelings: "If she had understood, we'd probably be still together."
But his first wife, Chrystie Crownover, said on Monday that she's known Bruce's secret since the year they wed in 1972. (They divorced in 1981.)
"I can't remember the exact words because it was such a shock, but he opened up and confessed," Crownover said on Good Morning America. She said she was shocked "because he was such a manly man," adding, "it didn't threaten our marriage."
Linda Thompson, who was married to Bruce from 1981 to 1986, writes in the Huffington Post that Bruce was "pretty much the perfect specimen of a man. . . . The Bruce I knew back then was unstudied, affable, and seemingly very comfortable in his own skin. So it seemed."
Her ex told her he "identified as a woman" three years into their marriage. He told her that "I have lived in the wrong skin, the wrong body, my whole life."
Thompson said the marriage suffered greatly. "Being married to a woman was not what I had envisioned for my life," she said.
Ian & Nikki: Vamp for life
It was the "most beautiful morning ever . . ." - so tweeted beautiful Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder, 36, on Sunday, hours before his nuptials with Twilight's Nikki Reed, a beauty in her own right. The wedding, in Malibu, Calif., wasn't publicized last week.
Here's hoping the couple, who now get to vamp on each other for the rest of their lives, stock up on plenty of iron supplements - anemia is no fun.
