CBS3 weathermaiden Kate Bilo will be co-hosting "The Talk" nationally this afternoon at 2 o'clock, with special guest David Duchovny.
She'll be joined by the network show's creator and executive producer, Sara Gilbert, (a/k/a Darlene Conner, on "Roseanne,") as well as TV personality and show moderator Julie Chen, actress Aisha Tyler and comedian Sheryl Underwood.
Bilo's first appearance on the show was in 2012, when she announced she was pregnant with her second child.
"I won't be making any big announcements this time around," she said, chuckling.
The crew will be discussing the latest headlines and entertainment news. It also usually offers a musical performance and cooking demo, and gives viewers real-world advice on such subjects as fitness, diet, health, home and relationships.
Lemonade for largesse
Today is also a good day for CBS3 and sister station CW Philly in terms of charity efforts outside their broadcast headquarters (1555 Hamilton St.). There will be a full day of fundraising there for Alex's Lemonade Stand, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a host of famous names on site.
Expect to see CBS News correspondent Tracy Smith, a longtime supporter of the charity; actress Bailee Madison; erstwhile "Double Dare" host and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation board member Marc Summers; the Phillie Phanatic; and Swoop, from the Eagles.
Who got slapped?
Yesterday, TMZ posted a wobbly video of what the site referred to as a "pistol-whipping melee" on the streets of Philly. Sources say Meek Mill's longtime beef with a rival rapper turned into a fracas somewhere in the city.
The video shows an unidentified man in a white T-shirt getting hit and possibly stumbling into a group of people.
The L.A.-based paparazzi clearinghouse also intimated that Philly rapper Louie V Gutta, who's been involved in a social-media skirmish with Mill since last summer, was involved.
Gutta returned to Twitter to deny any involvement in the alleged pistol-whipping.
"Stop spreadin' rumors man, I wasn't in no fight no pistol whip no nothing . . . me & bul just was having a convo," he posted. And "ya'll crazy keep my name out dem rumors . . . ain't nun happen 2 me I'm cool lol."
Philly police said they had no knowledge of the incident. Texts and calls placed to Mill's manager were not returned.
Foley's back!
WWE superstar and bestselling author Mick Foley will be slinging back drinks at a local watering hole this weekend.
Tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m., Foley will be at Las Vegas Lounge (704 Chestnut St., and a personal favorite of ours) for a meet and greet with his Philly fans. He's not shy about his highly publicized 2015 WIP Wing Bowl incident, when he was booted for allegedly stuffing uneaten chicken wings into a fanny pack in an attempt to increase his total.
"This is my first trip to Philadelphia since my controversial Wing Bowl incident in January and I'm looking forward to being back," Foley told me.
"I just had my 50th birthday over the weekend, so this is a sort of belated birthday celebration with all of my Philly fans."
Las Vegas Lounge is open to the public, but tickets to meet Foley and snag an autographed photo with him cost $25. You must be 21 and over.
Chance to see Vance
Vance Joy, the new singing phenom from the Land Down Under, is in town to open for Taylor Swift tomorrow night at Lincoln Financial Field.
Presented by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Radio 104.5 and Blue Moon beer, the Aussie vocalist also will be making an appearance at the PHS Pop-Up Garden (1438 South St.) on Saturday for a special tickets-only performance.
It's closed to the public, but fans can win tickets two ways: by registering to win at Radio 104.5.com and by following @PHSGardening on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #BuildBeauty. Fifteen winners will be selected to win a pair of tickets to the live act, which runs from 4 to 5 p.m. This event is also 21 plus.
