'Ant-Man' makes Amy Schumer cry 'Uncle'

AMY SCHUMER may have come into the

weekend with more buzz than a bee, but she

ended up crushed like a bug by "Ant-Man."

People say they want to hear women talk about sex, but what they really want is to hear men talk about insects.

"Ant-Man" debuted with an estimated $58 million at the weekend box office, while "Trainwreck" finished third at $30.2 million.

The result for "Ant-Man" didn't match some of Marvel's better known properties, but this was "Ant-Man," for goodness sake. Who the heck ever bought an "Ant-Man" comic?

Small was also big for the little yellow guys of "Minions," which took in $50.2 million in its second week.

According to Dave Hollis, head of distribution at Disney, "Ant-Man" appealed more to women (42 percent of the audience) and families (28 percent) than most Marvel releases.

"Most encouragingly in this one, the exit scores we're seeing from women - their likelihood to recommend and how much they enjoyed the film - was higher here than almost any film we've had," Hollis said. "It's a great sign for what word of mouth should be for the run, but, two, what it means for how women think about these movies being for them as much as men might."

The $30.2 million opening for "Trainwreck" made the R-rated release one of the biggest comedy successes this summer. It's also the second-best opening for Judd Apatow as a director, following "Knocked Up."

The audience was two-thirds women, Universal said.

Oh, Cos

Bill Cosby, in sworn testimony a decade ago, said that he had paid women after sex to keep the affairs from his wife, and suggested that he was skilled at reading women's unspoken desires, which we guess were to have sex with Cosby while in a drug-induced stupor.

The New York Times first reported the revelations Saturday after obtaining a copy of a transcript from a deposition that Cosby gave in a lawsuit filed by former Temple employee Andrea Constand, who alleges that he drugged and molested her.

The Associated Press obtained the transcript yesterday.

Cosby told lawyers for Constand that he was a "pretty decent reader of people and their emotions in these romantic sexual things."

And, let's face it, few things are more romantic than a woman plied with sedatives.

Cosby said that he offered to pay for Constand's education and paid another woman whom he had met in 1976, according to the transcripts. He said that he funneled money to one of the women he had sex with through his agent so that his wife wouldn't find out.

Cosby's publicist, David Brokaw, did not immediately return a message seeking comment. But he'd have to spin faster than a dreidel on meth to make any of this look good.

Cosby, who's been denying the claims of sexual assault by over 30 women, now acknowledges that he drugged women for sex and paid women for sex and tried to keep at least some of the sex secret from his wife.

How long until the excuse becomes that he assaulted only some of the women and it was only because they had fantasies of being taken advantage of by the creator of "Fat Albert"?

He has never been charged with a crime, but he has done just about everything needed to ruin his reputation and credibility.

TATTBITS

Bruce Springsteen performed for nearly two hours Saturday night at a surprise concert at Wonder Bar, in Asbury Park. He concluded the show with "Light of Day," which he dedicated to the huge crowd of people watching from the sidewalk outside the venue because they couldn't get into the packed bar.

Springsteen's appearance came during a show by Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers, a band he has appeared with on numerous times over the years.

The band had been playing for about 20 minutes before Springsteen joined them for a set that kicked off with "Never Be Enough Time."

* According to CNN, 50 Cent (a/k/a Curtis Jackson) is telling fans to cut the cable cord with AT&T because he claims the company is "racist."

He says that AT&T's cable division wants to keep "urban friendly" programming off its lineup.

You see, 50 Cent's show, "Power," is on Starz and AT&T is having a fight with Starz over the cost of its content and is threatening to can the network.

Other Starz original programs include "Black Sails," "Spartacus" and "Outlander," so we guess AT&T is also anti-pirate, anti-Roman and anti-time travel.
