Kanye "The Ego" West lets loose

"What [is] the point of thinking?"

So declared Kanye West Thursday on Ellen DeGeneres' show when the host suggested he may want to reflect on his tweets before posting them. Kim Kardashian's hub is famous for detonating stream-of-consciousness ravings on social media.

West, 38, accused the media of trying to make him look foolish. Despite it all, he insisted, "I care about people."

Before Ellen could stop him (but would she want to?), he launched into an eight-minute boast.

"My mom [Donda West] was the first black female chair of the English department at Chicago State University," Kanye said. "I was raised to do something, to make a difference."

Rated by some critics as our greatest hip-hop artist, West said his musical genius was due to synesthesia, a neurological condition that allows one to perceive things with two or more senses simultaneously. He "sees sounds," you see.

"Everything that I sonically make is a painting," said West. "I see it. I see the importance and the value of everyone being able to experience a more beautiful life." His next move is to give us good clothes with his Yeezy brand.

"I have to be the Michael Jackson of apparel in order to break open the doors for everyone that will come after I'm gone, after I'm dead," he said.

Catching himself, West later added, "I'm sorry, daytime television. I'm sorry for the realness." Really.

Bledel, Kartheiser secret parents

Scott Patterson let a li'l secret slip about his Gilmore Girls costar Alexis Bledel: She's been a mom since last fall. "She's really blossomed as a woman," Patterson told Glamour when asked how Bledel had evolved in the 16 years since their show premiered, "and now she's a proud new mother."

Bledel married her Mad Men costar Vincent Kartheiser in secret in 2014. Guess this means the couple will have to reveal the name of their baby boy.

Milo back on 'Gilmore Girls'

Milo Ventimiglia's career is booming: He confirms that he reprises his Gilmore Girls role as Rory's (Bledel) bf Jess in Netflix's revival of the show, which just wrapped shooting.

But he's no longer such a bad boy. "He matured into a very decent guy," Milo, 38, tells website Vulture, "but he never lost his angle of disdain for things that [peeved] him."

Milo also costars with Mandy Moore in NBC's new fall show This is Us. The show's trailer has caught fire, scoring 2.6 mil views on YouTube and 20 mil views on Facebook in just three days.

Gosling on keeping kids safe

Vincent and Alexis aren't the only celebs who fight to raise their kids in privacy. Take Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, who kept mum about their second daughter, Amada Lee, until she was born last month. Their first baby, Esmeralda Amada, was born in September 2014.

Keeping the girls safe from prying eyes will be a challenge, Gosling tells USA Today.

"For us, especially with kids, unfortunately privacy isn't something that they're going to have a lot of," he says. "So, as much as you can give it to them you feel like that's what you want to do, you know? It's the nature of being a parent. You're protective."

As I lay gossiping . . .

The lineup has been announced for the CMT Awards on June 8. Several acts will share the stage: Blake Shelton will perform with Country Music Hall of Famers the Oak Ridge Boys, and Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge, and Maren Morris will perform together. Other acts will include Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, and Thomas Rhett. . . . Beyoncé played nice with dad Mathew Knowles, posing for a pic with him at her Houston show May 7. The reunion was perhaps engineered to counter reports that some of her critical songs on Lemonade, such as "Daddy Lessons," are directed at his shortcomings as a dad and his philandering ways. Bey's mom, Tina Knowles, posted the pic on Instagram, writing, "Houston Concert proud dad!!!!"
