Slashfilm.com is calling on fans of the Star Wars-related game Knights of the Eternal Throne and a movie trailer made from that called "Star Wars: The Old Republic," to petition Netflix to turn "The Old Republic" into a series.
Netflix was chosen because of their series work so far and because Disney (owner of the "Star Wars" canon) already has a movie deal in place with the streaming service.
The petition starts . . .
"It's no surprise to anyone that the Star Wars franchise has experienced a massive resurgence lately, with The Force Awakens released last year and this year with the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However, it's about time that the stories from over 3,000 years before the Battle of Yavin be told to both new and old fans of the franchise."
It continues . . .
"The Old Republic era is a pivotal point in the Star Wars timeline because that's where everything changed, from the Jedi Civil War and the fall of Revan, the First Jedi Purge, and an omnipresent darkness that not only watched the chaos from afar but also kick-started the downfall. Our fanbase would love to see this on Netflix, and I feel that you would enjoy creating and adapting these stories as much as we would enjoy watching them."
