(9-11 p.m., WHYY TV12) - Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis brings two hours of new, jazzed-up arrangements of old favorite holiday tunes. Wycliffe "Pinecone" Gordon, Wess "Warmdaddy" Anderson, Reginald Veal and Roberta Gumbel are among the artists joining Marsalis.

Paranormal State

(10-11 p.m., A&E) - This new series profiles a real operation similar to the one Peter Venkman and company ran at the beginning of

Ghostbusters

: the Paranormal Research Society at Pennsylvania State University. Officially sanctioned by the school and overseen by a professor, it deals with reports of hauntings, contacts with the dead and other spooky situations - while its student members navigate the usual minefields of college life.
