NCIS (8 p.m., CBS3) - The death of a Marine leads Gibbs and McGee (Mark Harmon, Sean Murray) to the NCIS Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles, where the investigation quickly assumes vital importance concerning national security. Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J guest-star.

Matilda (9 p.m., FAM) - In Stephen King's take on the unhappy telekinetic girl story, a whole town burned down. Children's author Roald Dahl created a kinder, gentler version, with a pluckier heroine who uses her powers only on those who need a lesson. Mara Wilson plays young Matilda, but Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman and Pam Ferris steal the show as her crude, neglectful parents and the mean school principal.

The Cleaner (10 p.m., A&E) - William (Benjamin Bratt) tries to help a champion boxer with an alcohol problem get clean in time for a big match, but William and his team discover that the boxer's wife has a bigger addiction problem than he does. The fighter threatens William if he goes near his wife.
