Rare photographs show Einstein's brain was unusual

Research into the size and development of Einstein's brain has found that there were some unique characteristics of the famous physicist, the Washington Post reports. A study of 14 newly discovered photographs of Einstein's brain concluded there were some highly unusual aspects to the scientist's gray matter.

After his death in 1955, Einstein allowed his brain to be preserved for study by Thomas Harvey. Harvey photographed the brain and cut it into 240 block-size pieces for detailed study. Pictures were sent to 18 researchers around the globe to closer examine physical differences that could have contributed to Einstein's incredible mind. However, many of the photographs, except for Harvey's, are missing.
