Mourad Marofit wins the Broad Street Run

On a beautiful Sunday morning in Philadelphia, over 40,000 runners took to the streets as part of the 2014 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run.

PHILADELPHIA - On a beautiful Sunday morning in Philadelphia, over 40,000 runners took to the streets as part of the 2014 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run.

Mourad Marofit of Morocco won the 10 mile race with an official time of 47:07. At the finish line, he thanked the race organizers and mentioned that anytime he trains in the United States his home base will be Roxborough.

"I've never run so well," said women's winner Bertukan Feyisa Germame of Ethiopia after finishing at 55:26. "I'm happy."

A fixture in the Broad Street Run, Tony Nogueira took the wheelchair title for the ninth or tenth time with an official time of 34:29.
