Documents in the bequest of Leo Eloesser

The state Attorney General's Office has filed a lawsuit alleging that the American Friends Service Committee, a charity arm of the Quakers, misspent part of the money from a bequest from a doctor named Leo Eloesser. The documents: The Last Will and Testament of Leo Eloesser, in which he lays out instructions for his funeral and leaves much of his estate to form a loan fund for needy medical students. A 1979 letter from the AFSC, in which the charity agrees to keep the bequest as an endowment, with the proceeds used to help needy medical students.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office has filed a lawsuit alleging that the American Friends Service Committee, a charity arm of the Quakers, misspent part of the money from a bequest from Dr. Leo Eloesser.  A celebrity doctor of his day, he was a friend of leftwing artists like Pablo Casals and Frida Kahlo.

The documents:
