Dog case: Nip, delay

The capital case of Ozzy the dog took on a new complication yesterday when he bit a woman who was trying to give him a treat.

The capital case of Ozzy the dog took on a new complication yesterday when he bit a woman who was trying to give him a treat.

Desiree Osbeck, an animal trainer for the Voorhees Animal Orphanage, where Ozzy has been quarantined since he was accused of biting a 7-year-old Somerdale, N.J., boy, was bitten twice on the right arm while holding a bag of marrow treats.

The incident came before Ozzy's case - a life-or-death issue - was to be heard before Somerdale Municipal Judge Nick Trabosh.

The new bite was not mentioned at the hearing, which was continued until Tuesday, when the prosecution will conclude its case.

Ozzy is accused of biting Frankie Lovello on April 23 in the boy's yard near the dog's home on Cornell Avenue near the White Horse Pike. The boy, his right arm in a cast, testified about the attack, which resulted in bites of the face and a broken right arm. *
