The Eagles look to be the second biggest underdog in NFL history when they take on the New England Patriots this weekend.

Vegas bookmakers have made the 10-5 Birds 22-point underdogs in the Sunday's 8:15 p.m. game at the 10-0 Patriots.

The Eagles would be the biggest underdog since the 2001 Rams whipped the Panthers 48-14 as 20-point favorites, the

reported, citing the The Gold Sheet in Los Angeles.

When the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers played the defending champion Steelers in 1976, they were 24-point dogs, and lost 42-0.

Las Vegas has been taking a bath on the mighty Pats this season, Robert Walker, sports book director at the MGM Mirage, told the

“Every week it's a six-figure giveaway on New England," he said. “It's like one free bet each week."

Walker said the line could change depending on whether playing status of Donovan McNabb, who injured his thumb and ankle in last Sunday's win against the Miami Dolphins.

“We think (the line) would be 22-ish without [Donovan] McNabb, 19 1/2, 20 with McNabb," Walker said.

The Patriots are seeking to become the first NFL team to go undefeated since the 1976 Miami Dolphins.

Several Patriots players are zeroing in on personal records as well. The Patriots are not only aiming for an undefeated season, but a pair of players are on track to break individual records.

Quarterback Tom Brady is on target to eclipse Peyton Manning's touchdown record, needing just 11 more TD passes. Randy Moss is eyeing Jerry Rice's TD reception record of 22, needing seven to set a new record.
