This week's Adopt-a-Pet at the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society is Deja, a young Chow Chow mix.

Deja walks well on a leash and is obedient, calm and quiet. She likes other dogs.

A $25 fee includes sterilization, vaccines, and micro-chipping. Philadelphia residents pay $8 more for a dog license. A new adoption system is in effect for cats.

The adoption fee is $6 and includes the cardboard cat carrier. Adopters may take home a second cat at no additional charge. *
