Danny Harrison, 32, aka Danny White, of Philadelphia, has been sentenced to 156 months in prison for drug trafficking and witness tampering, U.S. Attorney Patrick Meehan announced yesterday.

Meehan said that while federal drug-trafficking charges were pending against Harrison, he threatened an informant to claim ownership of drugs and drug paraphernalia found in Harrison's home so that the charges against him would be dropped.

Gun-toting student arrested

A 16-year-old student at Strawberry Mansion High School was arrested yesterday on weapons charges after police said he took a gun to school. The weapon was found in the boy's book bag when it passed through a metal scanner, police said. He was taken in by police for questioning.

Arrest in school-bomb threat

A 12-year-old boy has been arrested by Upper Darby police for calling in a bomb threat to Hillcrest Elementary School on Tuesday, the second such incident in the township this month.

On Dec. 3, Archbishop Prendergast High School was evacuated for two hours after a 15-year-old girl called in and threatened to blow up the building. Both students are facing numerous charges, including terroristic threats and threats to use weapons of mass destruction, said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.

Man killed by train in Chester

A man was struck and killed yesterday morning by a northbound Amtrak Acela Express train near Highland Avenue and 4th Street in Chester.

Tracks remained closed for more than an hour after the 10:30 a.m. incident as police investigated. The 267 passengers were transferred to another train. Chester police declined to release the name of the dead man.

100G reward in Rowan killing

A reward has been increased to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two men wanted in the fatal beating and robbery Oct. 27 of Donald Farrell, 19, a Rowan University student. He died after being punched and kicked near the Glassboro campus. *
