Police are investigating a gruesome double murder discovered inside a Kensington rowhouse yesterday afternoon.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the bodies of a man and a woman, both in their 40s, were found stabbed to death inside the home on Monmouth Street near Jasper, police said. Investigators immediately ruled out murder-suicide, but reported no motive or suspects in the slayings. It was unclear how long the bodies had been in the house, police said.

The Citizens Crime Commission today will present the 27th Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Luncheon in the Grand Ballroom of the Park Hyatt Philadelphi a at the Bellevue.

The event is supported by more than 600 senior corporate executives, law-enforcement officials from all levels of government, and concerned citizens wanting to express their gratitude to the law-enforcement community and the sacrifices that they make daily. Mayor Nutter will be the guest speaker.

Body found in car trunk

Police in Bucks County are investigating the discovery of a man's body inside the trunk of a car found parked in Morrisville yesterday. District Attorney Michelle Henry said a 54-year-old man who used to live nearby had been taken into custody but was not immediately charged. Henry wouldn't say why the man had been taken into custody.

Henry also wouldn't answer questions about how the middle-aged man died. She said the body may be the result of a series of events that began in Maryland. She said Maryland authorities were planning to question the man in custody, but she wouldn't elaborate. *
