The bloodshed began early in the day in Nicetown, where a 24-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot to the face. His body was found about 4:25 a.m. on Bouvier Street near Wingohocking.
The man, whom police did not identify, was pronounced dead at the scene.
About 2 p.m., a 34-year-old was found shot to death outside a Queen Village public-housing development.
Homicide investigators said Kareem Williams, of Beechwood Street near Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia, was in a car in a parking lot on 4th Street near Christian at the Courtyard at Riverview development where the Southwark Towers once stood.
He died shortly after at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. No arrests were made.
At 7:49 p.m. in Kingsessing, a man and woman were riddled with bullets on Belmar Terrace near 56th Street, said homicide Lt. Mel Williams. The woman, whom police did not identify, died at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 8:19 p.m. The man, also not identified, was in critical condition at HUP. Police knew of no motive or suspects.
Only 10 minutes after that shooting, two men were shot on Kershaw Street near 50th in Parkside. One of the men died at HUP at 8:22 p.m, Williams said. The other was listed in critical condition. Police did not identify the victims, and no arrests were reported. *
