It was no game of cowboys and Indians Tuesday night in Chester when a 12-year-old boy stabbed a 20-year-old woman for hitting him with a rope, police said.
The incident began about 7:30 in the doorway of a home on 9th Street near Edwards, Capt. Stephen Fox said.
When police arrived, they found the woman bleeding profusely from both arms. The boy, who had stayed at the house, admitted to stabbing her with a steak knife because she had hit him with a rope, police said.
Although she was bleeding heavily, Fox said the woman's wounds appeared to be superficial.
Police took the boy into custody. He was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and related offenses, police said.
Fox said it was not immediately clear if the two were related but said it didn't appear so.
"It's probably just a neighborhood thing," he said.
