After investigating a possible abduction from a popular restaurant along the Delaware River waterfront in broad daylight yesterday, police last night said the situation turned out to be a little less serious.
A security guard at the Chart House restaurant on Columbus Boulevard reported that he saw four men in a van abduct a person from a silver Honda in the parking lot shortly after 3 p.m.
By late last night, cops said they had tracked the van and found that the four men had, in fact, abducted a man - but only to take him, a friend, to his bachelor party in Atlantic City.
"The security guard did the right thing, he saw something that didn't look right and he reported it," said Lt. Frank Vanore, a police spokesman.
