Two city cops were hit in the eyes with bleach yesterday while trying to break up a fight in North Philadelphia, police said.
The incident started at about 3 p.m., when cops responding to a report of a fight at 23rd and Somerset streets found that a man had been stabbed, according to police.
As they tried to break up the fight, they were hit with the bleach, cops said.
Both officers were treated at Temple University Hospital and released.
The stabbing victim, a 21-year-old man, was also taken to Temple, where he underwent surgery late last night, cops said.
Two people were arrested, one woman in connection with the stabbing and her daughter, who allegedly spit on a cop, police said.
Police said last night that they didn't know who threw the bleach at the cops but that the investigation was ongoing.
Investigators said that a neighborhood dispute may have been the cause for the melee.
