A look at Greene's rise and fall:
* Jan. 14, 1998: Greene, the executive director of the Detroit Housing Commission, is hired to lead the country's fourth-largest public-housing agency in Philadelphia.
* Jan. 16: A Detroit housing accountant files a sexual-harassment lawsuit, contending that Greene kissed and fondled her against her will. The suit says he also promised her a promotion if she'd submit to his demands.
* Feb. 11: Probe ordered by then-Mayor Ed Rendell and City Council President John Street finds no pattern of improper behavior by Greene in Detroit.
* Feb. 23: Greene doesn't show up for his first day of work after the Detroit mayor says Greene's staying in his old job.
* Feb. 27: PHA board sweetens contract offer to Greene and guarantees him $160,000 salary even if three civil suits against him are founded.
* March 2: Greene accepts the job - again.
* January 1999: Greene pushes through changes to maligned Section 8 housing, ensuring background checks and cracking down on neglectful landlords.
* March 2002: After years of positive press for demolishing blighted high-rise developments, a federal review alleges that Greene's management style forced many PHA executives to quit.
* December 2003: Three PHA lawyers file whistle-blower lawsuits, alleging that they had been fired or punished for disclosing irregularities in PHA's operations.
* July 27, 2010: Bank files foreclosure action against Greene for defaulting on a $386,685 mortgage for his Naval Square condominium at 24th and Bainbridge streets.
* Aug. 18: Daily News reports that Elizabeth Helm, a PHA architect and project designer, filed a sexual-harassment complaint against Greene in April. Five other female employees had filed complaints since 2004.
* Aug. 20: Greene checks himself into a facility for mental-health treatment.
* Aug. 24: Revelations emerge that insurers have settled three sexual-harassment claims against Greene - with plans to settle a fourth - without PHA board approval.
* Aug. 26: The PHA board suspends Greene; federal investigation begins.
* Sept. 7: Greene sues board, claiming it has ruined his reputation, and demanding the final two years of his $306,000 salary.
* Yesterday: Board fires Greene.
