1TRIO SHOT IN NORTH PHILLY

Two men and a woman were shot and wounded yesterday in North Philadelphia, police said. Shortly after 6:30 p.m. police responded to a shooting on Somerset Street near 8th, police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore said. Police said a 21-year-old man was shot once in the groin; a 20-year-old man was shot once in the back of the head; and the woman, 41, was shot twice in the right thigh. All were in Temple University Hospital - the men in critical condition, the female in stable condition. Police said the shooter was a man wearing a white tank-top, last seen driving a Green Chevy Suburban on Somerset toward Germantown Avenue.

2THIEF STEALS RINGS FROM ILL WOMAN AT HOSPITAL

An elderly Media woman's wedding and engagement rings were stolen from her finger as she lay ill in Riddle Memorial Hospital this month, State Police said yesterday. The woman, 70, was a patient at the hospital on Oct. 3, when two women walked into her room about 3 a.m. and took the rings, police said. The suspects remain at large. Anyone with information on the case is urged to call State Police in Media at 484-840-1000.

3PARK ATTACK GETS DIRTY

Police in New Castle County, Del., have charged a 14-year-old boy with forcing a 7-year-old boy into a portable toilet and knocking it over with the boy inside at a park in Newark on Sunday about 7:45 p.m. The boy injured his knee and was covered in waste. He told his father and the 14-year-old was charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault and harassment.

4SHOOTING VICTIM RECOVERING

A 22-year-old man who was shot in Kensington at 1 a.m. yesterday is recovering at Temple University Hospital, police said. The man, whose identity police did not release, was shot once in the abdomen on Rorer Street near Allegheny Avenue. He was listed in stable condition yesterday, police said.

5TEEN SHOT SITTING ON PORCH

A 17-year-old youth was shot once in the thigh while sitting on a porch in West Philadelphia yesterday afternoon. Police said the incident occurred about 1 p.m. at a home on 58th Street near Arch when the teen was shot by an unidentified gunman. The victim was in stable condition last night at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

IN OTHER NEWS: MAN FOUND DEAD

A man was found dead inside a house on Manton Street near 18th in South Philadelphia last night. Chief Inspector Scott Small said a pillowcase was tied around the 31-year-old victim's neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:49 p.m. It was unknown how long the man had been dead. Tipsters can contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or -3335.

UPDATES: OBAMA STREAKER CHARGED, COULD WIN $1 MILLION

Police have identified the man who streaked at an Obama rally in Germantown Sunday as Juan Rodriguez, 24, of New York City. He was apparently trying to win a $1 million dare from billionaire Alki David. Police charged Rodriguez with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and open lewdness. Also, a man who threw a book he wrote at Obama in the hopes that the president would read it will not be charged, the Secret Service said.
