Nutter: NFL and Eagles made the right call

MAYOR NUTTER

is steering clear of the controversy surrounding the decision to postpone Sunday night's Eagles-Vikings game because of the snowstorm.

"We have no role in whether the game gets played or not. If there's a monsoon, someone at the Phillies decides whether the game is canceled or game-delayed," Nutter said last night.

Nutter said that the team and the National Football League ultimately made the decision. As for Gov. Rendell's criticism of the move, Nutter said: "He's a big fan. I respect him and he's certainly entitled to his opinion. It's a point of view."

Nutter said he expected the Eagles to win tonight instead.

"I think they can beat the Vikings on Sunday night, they can beat the Vikings on Tuesday night. I think we need to move on," Nutter said. "Some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy."
