Good job, city? Readers disagree

Mayor Nutter may have lauded the city's snow-removal efforts, but commenters at Philly.com didn't see things the same way. T: Well, this one shouldn't have cost too much. I'm not sure the city plowed anything but part of Dilworth Plaza.

TWEB: It would be cheaper to buy plows, shovels, and snowblowers. Then just hand them out all over the city.

Borkey: The city doesn't budget for snow removal? That's absurd. Where do they think Philadelphia is in Florida?

junethe4th: Maybe the city should look into using contractors for the plowing. Could save on the overtime, which is probably the bulk of the $6 million expense.

aNutterInDgutter: I wouldn't be surprised that within the next few years, City Council will propose a law requiring residents to not only shovel the sidewalk in front of their house but to actually shovel the street.
