Cops: Killer's lover was victim's ex

A MAN who fatally shot an Upper Darby barber in front of his customers, one of whom was a 4-year-old boy, was the boyfriend of the barber's ex, police said Thursday.

A MAN who fatally shot an Upper Darby barber in front of his customers, one of whom was a 4-year-old boy, was the boyfriend of the barber's ex, police said Thursday.

Within 24 hours of the afternoon shooting, Sharif Wynn, 27, was charged with murder and related offenses in the shooting of Michael Turner, 35, at Modern Hair Designs on Copley Road about 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Wynn entered the barbershop dressed in all black Muslim clothing, announced a robbery and told all six people in the shop to get on the floor, said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood. Wynn then went over to Turner and shot him once in the head, police said.

In interviews with police, Wynn, who was living with the mother of Turner's child, allegedly said that he just wanted to scare Turner and that his gun accidently went off, Chitwood said.

"But the evidence shows the gun was put to his temple and fired," he said.

Investigators were led to Wynn through interviews and traced his cellphone to find him, Chitwood said. Wynn's girlfriend, who is Turner's ex-girlfriend, had dropped Turner off at his job about 20 minutes before the shooting.
