Nutter to speak at DNC

THE DEMOCRATIC National Convention Committee announced Friday that Mayor Nutter will speak at the party's convention in Charlotte, N.C., the first week of September.

THE DEMOCRATIC National Convention Committee announced Friday that Mayor Nutter will speak at the party's convention in Charlotte, N.C., the first week of September.

The Democratic Party plans to start the convention with a rally on Labor Day, Sept. 3, and then hold events that Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Other mayors scheduled to speak at the DNC are Cory Booker of Newark, N.J.; Anthony Foxx of Charlotte; R.T. Rybak of Minneapolis; and Antonio Villaraigosa of Los Angeles. Nutter will speak on Sept. 4 or 5 at Time Warner Cable Arena.

President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will be nominated to run for re-election on Sept. 6 at Bank of America Stadium.
