1 Man busted for dogfighting operation

Antoine Talley, 36, who was convicted of animal cruelty in 2000, was arrested last week at his Crescentville home on Van Kirk Street near Weymouth after Pennsylvania SPCA officers found evidence of a dogfighting operation there.

2 New farmers market comes to Manayunk

A new community farmers market in Manayunk's Pretzel Park will kick off with a launch party Wednesday at Tiny Terra Ferma on Main Street near Cotton. Tickets for the 6 p.m. party are $18 at the door. Pretzel Park's weekly farmers market starts next Saturday.

Did we say it was tiny? A "parklet" - a parking spot converted into seating for pedestrians - was installed at 10th and Cherry streets this week.

6 Iconic Fairhill sculpture returns

The "El Gran Teatro de la Luna," a huge sculpture that graced Fairhill Square for 14 years, was returned after the park was refurbished with new walkways, furniture, lighting and plantings.
