THE Daily News Pets of the Week are Archie (left) and Ike, 3-month-old brother kittens at the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

"It's actually possible for a mother cat to have offspring from different fathers in the same litter, which is what happened here," said Sarah R. Eremus, the PSPCA's manager of communications and marketing, explaining the big difference in appearance.

Archie and Ike, rescued in January, like to snuggle together and ideally they'll be adopted together. Archie is an adventurer who loves to play. Ike is a shy guy who is gaining more confidence every day. They have lived with dogs and cats, and likely would do fine in a home with other pets.

For more information about Archie and Ike, call the PSPCA at 215-426-6300; stop by the shelter on Erie Avenue near B Street, North Philadelphia; or email mburkitt@pspca.org.
