The Campbell Soup Co. said this morning that it is donating $500,000 to The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Camden, according to a press release.
Ground was recently broken for the $90 million project, which is in the city's Cramer Hill section.
The donation announcement is scheduled for 11 a.m. today. Camden Mayor Dana Redd, State Sen. Donald Norcross (D-Dist. 5), and Paul Cain, Salvation Army Kroc Center administrator, are expected to attend. Campbell's Chief Executive Officer Denise Morrison will make the announcement at the 24-acre site.
The new facility will be three football fields in length, and will offer two swimming pools, classrooms and cultural spaces, a worship center, and dozens of programs for the physical, educational, and spiritual needs of families and individuals.
