Man killed, another critical, in Kensington blaze

A man was killed and a second man was critically injured this morning after a fire swept through a two-story rowhouse in Philadelphia's Kensington section.
Executive Fire Chief Richard Davison said the fire on the 3400 block of Joyce St., about one block from Franford Ave., was first reported at 9:51 a.m. He said the fire appeared to have started on the first floor, but that the cause was still under investigation.
Firefighters had the blaze under control by 10:16 a.m.
Davison said he did not have names or ages of the victims. However, one victim was transported to an area hospital and was in critical condition as of this afternoon.
Davison said there were no other injuries reported, and that he did not know how many people were in the house at the time.
