3 injured, 1 arrested when car collides with train
Three people were injured this afternoon when car crashed through a fence in Southwest Philadelphia and collided with an inbound train on the Media/Elwyn Regional Rail line.
The incident occurred near the Angora Station about 5 p.m. at 56th and Hoffman Streets. According to a Septa spokeswoman, the car was headed north on S. 56th Street when it veered to the left, smashed through fencing, and hit the side of one of the train cars.
Police arrested the driver of the car before transporting her and two passengers to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
No one on the train was injured and inbound trains were suspended for an hour.
