Kidd Chris still silent on firing

There's still no comment from 94 WYSP morning jock Kidd Chris on his firing Friday from the radio station over a racist song performed by an in-studio guest in March and aired several more times that month. For now, 'YSP will be playing music during Kidd Chris' vacated time slot. We reported exclusively Friday on PhillyGossip.com about Chris' firing and that of WYSP program director John Cook, who also lost his job over internal fallout from the song "Schwoogies," sung to the tune of Blondie's "Call Me," performed March 21 by Lady Gash.

A CBS Radio spokeswoman who denounced the song lyrics, declined to discuss whether Chris will be paid the life of his contract, about three more years. The song, whose complete lyrics are posted on PhillyGossip.com, includes the slurs "monkeys, shines, knuckle draggers and sambos," and says that "coloreds" will "steal your wallet" and "try to jack my car."

Chris was set to celebrate his birthday Friday with a big bash at Whiskey Tango (Philmont & Bustleton), but the party was canceled earlier in the day. However, an impromptu commiseration party for Kidd Chris fans and followers was held Friday night at the Rev. Bob Levy's Comedy Club at the Ramada Inn in Levittown.

Porn starlet Mary Carey, who was to appear at Whiskey Tango, as well as loyal listeners, some 'YSP staffers and Kidd Chris sidekicks Thomas and Egg Nog showed up as well. Comics Levy, Gino Bisconte, Open Mike and Danny Ozark joined The Legendary Wid and 'YSP's Blake From Sales to do stand-up. After the show, the party shifted to the hotel's lobby bar, Jordan's, where Lady Gash performed her now-controversial song "Schwoogies," and where Ozark made out with Carey and kissed her feet. "I was blasted, but I know she was too because she kept saying I was hot," Ozark reports.

Out and about

Kanye West did some sneaker shopping at UBIQ (1509 Walnut) Saturday afternoon before the hip-hop star played the Susquehanna Bank Theatre in Camden that night.

Owen Wilson and a few pals hung out at G (111 S. 17th) Friday night. We're told that the actor, in the area shooting "Marley & Me," and who has battled drugs and alcohol abuse, was not drinking.

Actress Morgan Fairchild dined with Gov. Rendell at Brasserie Perrier (1619 Walnut) the other night with Rendell aide Charles Breslin and his lovely wife, Nina. Fairchild was in town to participate in the Pennsylvania Commission for Women's Vote Campaign at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.

Rapper/actor Mos Def hung out Thursday night at Silk City (5th & Spring Garden), where he asked for the digits of one local hottie who chatted up the cool cat.

Northeast/Trenton-raised actor Leo Rossi, a Villanova grad, was at Rembrandt's (741 N. 23rd) the other night, where his daughter Rose Rossi was performing. He was friendly to fans. Rossi will appear in and co-produce "The Nail," starring sandwich mogul Tony Luke Jr. as a boxer, shooting here next month. *
